Book III: White Tiger, Black Dragon

7th Eye Private Investigator Piper Preston, a petite, Asian descendant of a master swordsman, collects antique swords and daggers. Her favorite past time is to practice martial arts with the swords, along with working out with her best friend, partner in business, and boss, Jordi Hazzard. Her main focus in life is to find the man who killed her parents before her very eyes, as a child.

Always wearing dark sunglasses, Piper uses them to filter out the spirits of the dead who she sees and hears with her psychic abilities. 7th Eye is full of people with psychic gifts who solve crimes. Piper uses the spirits to help her capture her targets and keep her out of trouble. However, the can't always help her in time.

After a particularly difficult case, Jordi sends Piper to a hundred acre forest everglade to stay at her cabin and regenerate. Piper practices pole dancing at her friend's request, not knowing why but trusting that Jordi has her reasons.

Fit and supple, she becomes lost in her own world of dance until she senses someone watching her from the bushes. Grabbing her swords she confronts the stranger, ordering him to come out and show himself.

The man turns out to be her new partner, sent to bring her with him to Toronto, Ontario, to seek out a gang led by The Black Dragon, the very man who killed her family. Introducing himself as Rick, an undercover cop, sent by Jordi, he leads her into grave danger as a pole dancer in the Black Dragon's bar. Not only is she in danger from the leader, but also from the other dancers, and from losing her heart to Rick.

The Black Dragon keeps his women in line by getting them hooked on narcotics and has them gang up on Piper, capturing her. Even though she fights to the finish, they inject her with heroine and lock her in a hidden room where Rick can't find her for days until she's addicted to the point of no return.

It's up to Rick to save her, get her away from the Black Dragon, and help her fight the addiction so they can go back and take him and his gang down. The growing love between them becomes a greater battle than the drugs as they are thrown together to accomplish the impossible.
