A Social Drama – about Fetal
Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
Jenna White’s entire world was
ripped apart in the split second of a fatal car accident. Losing her husband
and daughter nearly killed her.
As she lay recovering
in the hospital, the bittersweet news of her unexpected pregnancy was not
enough to bring her out of her severe depression. Not for the first six
months as she delved to the bottom of a liquor bottle to numb her pain,
until one day, her loving father shocked her out of her self pity with the
potential of losing this child too.
As Jenna moved forward in her
life, Megan became her reason to live again. Jenna met a new love that
brought healing into her life. Steve Davidson, a teacher and incredibly
supportive spouse took Jenna and Megan into his life as their own with no
reservations.
Now married and living the
perfect family life again, Jenna and Steve begin to struggle with the
bizarre and troublesome behaviours of Megan as she grows. Megan’s
impulsiveness and her inability to sense danger progresses, as does her
exceptional needs. After dozens of doctors, specialists, inaccurate
diagnoses and dozens of medications, they are no further ahead in revealing
what drives their loving daughter Megan to do the unthinkable things she
does.
Judged as an unfit mother, Jenna
fights not only for Megan, but to prove that she is not the terrible parent
she’s accused of being.
